I am getting a rejection code of F8962-006-01

Hello when I filed my taxes I am getting a rejection code of: F8962-006-01

 

Then when I go into the Turbotax website it says:

If Form 8962, Line 1 'TotalExemptionsCnt' has a non-zero value, then Line 5 'FederalPovertyLevelPct' must be equal to Line 3 'HouseholdIncomeAmt' divided by Line 4 'PovertyLevelAmt'.

What needs to be done:
This return cannot be electronically filed at this time due to a processing error that will be corrected on February 3, 2022. On or after February 3, 2022 open the rejected return, review it for errors, and resubmit the return for electronic filing.

 
Is this a software glitch or am I doing something wrong?

I'm also getting that same message, which is why i came to this forum. any update? i looked at the form, and it looks like we can't change any of the information there other than what was on form 1095-a and entered. it sounds like an issue with TurboTax but i could be wrong. i plan to call them today when they open.

I was unemployed and got healthcare from the marketplace, so I think it specifically has to deal with that. Instead of 100% on line 5 on form 8962, it needs to be 133%? There is absolutely no way of editing it from what I can tell, it has to be on Turbotax end of things.

Before you enter your 1095-A a question appears asking if you received unemployment during 2021.  You need to say yes, then your line 5 will show 133%.

Yes I did that. I was asked if I received unemployment and answered yes. I was told on the main page about a processing error that would be resolved February 3rd. Is that on TurboTax or irs?

I answered YES to that question two times, federal has been rejected twice. It's got to be Turbotax's fault

Error message F8962-006-01 is a code from the IRS to explain the rejection. It does refer to Form 8962, which reconciles the Advanced Premium Tax Credit from your Form 1095-A

 

Our information for this code is "This return cannot be electronically filed at this time due to a processing error that will be corrected on February 3, 2022. On, or after February 3, 2022, open the rejected return, review it for errors, and resubmit the return for electronic filing."

 

The IRS just began accepting e-filed returns on Jan 24th and this early in the season it is not uncommon for there to be updates.  Please review the 1095-A area in your return, after February 3rd, when the updates should be in place. Then, refile and it should be accepted.

What a shame since that’ll delay my refund return. I paid a decent amount from my refund for this product but oh well.

All these "Experts" are doing is giving canned responses. They won't even tell us if it's on IRS or TurboTax end. This is why I always use H&R Block. I tried turbo because they advertised the most refund which is true, but it looks like it's at a cost. To answer your question though, no I'm waiting until Friday to refile.

Same problem, rejected twice error message the same for both. I checked off the unemployment box but it still does not update on the tax form. Do we have to wait again?

This is an IRS rejection code that is expected to be fixed on February 03, 2022.  You can resubmit your return after that day.

I was told it was nothing we were doing wrong the aystem was not doing something, so issue would be corrected on February 3rd

So why are all of us getting the message to return and efile ON or after the 3rd?  So you saying we dont need to refile till the 4th???

Sounds like it's their fault (turbotax) and they're making us wait for our money. I paid over $100 for this and they don't even have their software setup correctly lol, other tax preparing websites seem to not be having this problem. What a sham. We deserve a discount for this.

I’m having this issue as well. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Since it’s “rejected” can’t I file elsewhere since it never went through. I’m sick of seeing the same old computerized responses from “turbo tax experts”. Give us real answers!! People have paid cash for this to be happening and not receiving any helpful information!

I second that notion... First, they reject me for the Refund Advance, then they get my tax return rejected and delayed a week. This is my 3rd year using TurboTax, not sure if there will be a 4th unless this is made right.

Same!!!! I got rejected twice so I’ll wait to Friday and pray . I received healthcare two months , worked and also got unemployment. I’m using 2019 look back with 2 children , ctc and eic with a missing stimulus . I’m glad I’m not the only one because I was super worried when I couldn’t fix the issue.

the message says to resubmit on or after February 3rd, so your comment to someone said to efile after that day, why did the generated message not say the 4th?

Mine said feb 3rd but I’m waiting till Friday just to be safe. I heard if they reject you 3 times then you have to mail in.
