I am filing the same info as last year but this year I can't get past a screen that says I need to upgrade. "You have Schedule 3 ... "How do I get past this?

Schedule 3 is a new form this year so that is why you are seeing it referenced, even if your tax situation is the same.  The IRS completely revised the 1040 form and now several line items that used to be reported on the 1040 form are reported on six different schedules (Schedules 1 to 6).

Schedule 3 is where the credits for child and depedent care expenses, education credits, retirement savings contribution credits and residential energy credits are recorded.  Therefore, if you have one of these credits, you will need to upgrade in order to get Schedule 3 and the credit included with your tax return.

Here is a sample Schedule 3 form:  Schedule 3
