The IRS is making stimulus payments based on the information on your return and not necessarily matching it up with other filings to confirm. However, if you did not receive the stimulus now, it will be added as a credit on when you file your 2020 tax return.

The IRS has created a Get My Payment portal to track the progress of these payments for taxpayers. It is expected to be available beginning April 17, 2020.

What if I amended my 2019 taxes? A few days ago once I realized the mistake I sent in the paper work to amend my 2019 taxes. Also, how would it be credited when I file my 2020 tax return?

The stimulus payment is really an advance of a 2020 credit. If you are eligible, and you don't receive the payment in 2020, you will get  the same amount you should have gotten as a payment in the form of additional refund on your 2020 tax year return that you file in 2021.

I did the same thing! I have been filing as dependent for years, so I did the same this year, even though I turned 25 in 2019. Am I seriously not eligible!?
