How to fix an error on W2 when my Federal Return has already been filed?

My W2 was missing the Employer's State ID number and I need to correct this error on my W2 that already been filed?

If you only filed the federal return and it gets accepted then when you go to file the state return you can make that correction at that time.  Usually the feds don't check state EINs so it shouldn't effect the federal filing.

No, you cannot make any changes to your Federal return since you have already filed your Federal return.  You will now have to wait until after January 23rd (which is the date the IRS is accepting returns) to find out whether your return is accepted or rejected.  If your return gets rejected you can fix your W2 information and then re-e-file.

Once your Federal return gets accepted you can file your State return.

I only was able to file my Federal Return at this time, so what your saying is I can go back to my W2 in the Federal Taxes tab and edit the W2 and correct it? Then I can file for my State Return?
