How long does it take to get my taxes back in the mail and us it true that if you owe stundent loans there not taking your tax refund this year

Yes it is true student loan debts are not being collected from the federal refund or the stimulus check. 

 

There have been delays at the IRS due to staff shortages with the virus and the focus on launching the stimulus payments. The IRS actually quit processing returns for awhile. They are reportedly processing them again so hopefully yours will get processed soon.

 

All you can do is track the status of your refund at the IRS tracking web site:
