How long does it take IRS to collect payment once taxes have been filed online and accepted?

Return filed and accepted 4/06. Bank account not showing payment yet.

The direct debit will occur on or after the date you specified when you selected the direct debit option.  If the amount owed has not been debited within 10 days after your return was accepted, there is a phone number in the article below which you can call to follow-up with the IRS.

Hi @brianjen413 ,

Going to through the same thing here. It's been 7 days no update. How about you? Did IRS take the money yet? Let's keep each other updated. Thanks!

During non-peak times, funds are usually withdrawn on the payment date you specify, assuming your e-filed return has already been accepted (received) by the IRS.

If that date happens to fall on a weekend or federal holiday, the funds are typically withdrawn the next business day.   They are behind, so keep checking.    @Calvint

When will my tax payment go through?   They may be pushing back collecting payments, since they are manually adjusting return and issuing additional refunds for unemployment and Premium Tax Credits.
