How do you correct an incorrect underpayment fee after you file?

The calculated penalty was based on filing on an earlier date, but I filed several days later.

You should wait and see if the IRS picks this up and corrects it for you.  You can always be a small amount off on this calculation because it runs until the IRS records it in their records.
