How do I respond to TurboTax's questions about a 2017 Maryland income tax refund? The refund was received because the taxpayer filed only to get a refund.

Could it be that I should just delete the data that  TurboTax entered from 2017,  I did not get a 1099G.

The questions regarding the 2017 Maryland refund are used to determine if the refund should be taxable on the 2018 Tax Return.  If you didn't itemize on your 2017 Tax Return, you don't need to include the Maryland Refund as income on your 2018 Tax Return.
