How do I open a .tax file (state return) without having turbo tax loaded on my destop? I need to save it as a .pdf.

Did you use the Online version?  You can download it as a pdf.  Or if you have the .tax file you could try the TaxPrinter service to convert a .tax file to pdf at

They might be expensive and it is probably not safe to email tax returns back and forth. They are not related to Turbo Tax. I see it says federal is $44.99 and Federal + state is $79.99.

Hey, there.  I used the online version and I can download my Federal as a .pdf but the State is .tax.  I can't even see a way for me to open it in TurboTax online.  I don't think I should have to pay for and download the desktop version so I'm kind of confused.  I should at least be able to see it and print it off.  It's kind of odd.

The state return is in the same pdf file as federal.  It should be at the end of federal.  Look again.  There is only 1 pdf file.

When you see the  pdf and .tax  files they are in a separate column.  They don't go with only  federal or state.  There is only 1 tax file and 1 pdf file for each year.
