If your return was filed, you would get a text or email saying it is pending, accepted or rejected. If you do not get any type of text or email, and you signed up or did not opt out of them, then you can check the IRS Where's My Refund to see if it was transmitted.  Also, when you hit transmit my return, the screen will say success when it is transmitted.

Depending on the state you are in the homestead credit may be part of the tax return or it may be completely separate from your return.  Which state do you live in?

On the home screen you should see your refund amount.  If not, you can look at form 1040 on the second page line 34 to see your refund amount. You should save the pdf of your return and  print a copy for your records.
