How do I know if I file tax return for CA last year since I cannot see it in the last year's tax return other than the Federal and my state tax return?

You have another state besides CA?

If you download a PDF of the return and you do not see CA in that file then you did not file one thru Turbotax. 

Did you get a refund from CA ?   Did you have a balance due and did you pay it ?
