How come my address for my card is not accepted? The card is from U.S. but I live in a foreign country and use my address for the card. Is there a computer glitch?

Is there a computer glitch in the program?  Here is the issue:  I am paying my tax due and am using my U.S. Visa card which I have used in the past.  This time though, I have changed my card address to the country where I am living in (Philippines).  The problem seems to be in the field for State (showing all the various states in the U.S.).  Because I use a Philippine address, it should show Province (for the regions in the Philippines) thus the computer is unable to read the information because of this.

Please help.

We accept credit, debit, and pre-paid cards with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover logo. Like many other U.S. online merchants, we can only process cards with a U.S. billing address.

If you do not have a US billing address, perhaps you have a friend or relative in the US that could assist you.

So what you're saying is that any and ALL cards should have U.S. address to be accepted by your computer system?  I just want to let you know that I have used my TWO cards with no problem or issues just because I am using a Philippine address.  My banks actually suggested to me to use my foreign address, i.e., the Philippines because it is easy for them to contact me.

My question is actually whether at your end your computer glitch can be fixed!  I don't know how extensive it is going to be but I do know that when you ask a client (just like me) if I could use my address and once that option is checked, THE ENTIRE INFORMATION FROM MY CURRENT ADDRESS IS TRANSFERRED TO THE CURRENT PAGE to show my actual current address, which is the Philippines.

You may wish to try to following workaround.
go back to the MY INFO section and change the address to the same one the US credit card is registered to
2) complete the FILE tab long enough to pay the TT fees
3) return to the address section of the MY INFO tab and put the actual foreign address back
4) complete the FILE tab again all the way until you can transmit the return.

it is now 2022.  still the same problem that is not going away.   I will try your work around.  I think I did something similar last year.

the other choice is to have your us bank to use two addresses for you.

good luck
