How can I get the turbo tax 2018 to take the 2017 info from my flash drive verses the partially saved info off of my desktop?

I especially need the depreciation amount from rentals

You must copy the 2017 datafile from your flash drive and put it in  a directory on your hard drive

Then start a NEW tax return and use that 2017 right at the start of the NEW tax return.

.....can't put it into an already started tax return.

..and the 2017 datafile must be on your main computer's system disk.
