How can I be certain I reported my 1099-MISC in my original 2018 e-filed return?

In trying to ammend my return, TurboTax says "Earlier, you reported the 1099-MISC that was for Teaching". Does this mean I did include it in my original return?

Hi Linda,

It sounds like you did include it. What I would do is do a print preview of the entire return (filing copy and all worksheets) and look for the 1099-Misc worksheet. You should see that and depending on the tax treatment of the income (based on your entries in TurboTax) you should be able to locate that same amount on either Schedule C or Schedule 1, line 21.

Thanks,

Dirk

Thank you Dirk. I do not see the amount in either place you listed. Where do I find the 1099-MISC worksheet you mentioned?

Thanks,
Linda

That is interesting. It sounded like it was there. Go to the Federal tab on the left, the choose Income & Expenses. Click Add More Income, then go to the Self-Employment area. Follow the prompts to enter a 1099-Misc.

So I logged into my TurboTax account. Do I get to the "Add More Income then go to the Self-Employment area..."  through the Ammend (or Change) Return area?

You start the amend process, then once that is going, navigate to the self-employment area.

Thank you very much. The more I look at this,  says I already included that information. I am thinking I am ok and do not need to ammend. I appreciate your help.
