Once you file, you cannot change anything. If the IRS cannot direct deposit then they will mail a check to the address on the tax return.
If you have a tax refund then in the File section of the program on Step 2 you should have entered your bank information for a direct deposit. If you did not and filed the tax return then you will receive the tax refund as a check in the mail.
There is no way to change how the refund is to be received after the tax return has been filed and accepted.
If you want to add it to your return so you can get the 3rd Stimulus payment.....you can't. It's too late.
I sent in a form to append my return with the direct deposit info, today: I checked my pdf return on turbotax and the direct deposit info was filled out (without errors). I believe this is before the deadline you mentioned...?
would they not just send the third payment as a check since the direct deposit *was* missing? I'll call the IRS tomorrow and speak to a person. 😕
