Got the alert that my "Schedule CA (540), California Adjustments - Residents" tax form is ready but can't find where to complete it?

I need to amend my return because I got my last W2 in the day after I filed my federal and state tax return. I had forgotten about it cause I didn't work there in 2021 but when I got it I remembered they realized they miscalculated and didn't pay me that amount when I did work there in 2020. When I try to click amend on the bottom of the homepage, it says it's not ready yet to be amended. So what does this email saying I got the "Schedule CA (540), California Adjustments - Residents" form even mean then if I can't amend it?

Don’t amend your return until after your return has been processed and any tax liability has been settled. The IRS might even recognize your additional W-2 and adjust your return.

How do I know if they adjusted it and that I don't have to do anything?

The amendment process will not be functional until March ... do not try to change anything until then and only after the IRS has processed the original return and you have your original refund in hand.

The IRS will send you a letter.

I'm actually moving states at the end of April. Is there any way I can redirect that mail or just ensure it gets to me since it sounds like it may be awhile? Do I just update address with usps?

Update your address here.

Would it be wise to do it well before (say a month before) I actually move? If it doesn't get processed in time and the IRS sends a letter is there anyway to know or check? Or get them to resend to me again at my new address?

I agree that it’s hard know when the IRS will change your address. Might be simpler to just have the post office forward your mail to your new address when you leave.
