Filed our Okla state taxes through turbotax & was getting $738 back. Today we received a notice from Oklahoma Tax Commission saying we owe $666. How can that happen?

Look over the notice and compare it to the return filed and see what they changed.

You can call us then, but I would wait a day or two when the phones are not so busy but we can go over with you and see what happened.

The letter has this:
Reported:
Oklahoma Withholding $1404
Total Payments & Credits $1404
Amount to be refunded $738
Tax due $0.

Adjusted:
Oklahoma Withholding $0
Total Payments & Credits $0
Amount to be refunded $0
Tax due $666

What form has the taxes withheld on it?  A W-2 or 1099R?

W-2

You need to send them a letter back with copy of notice and the W-2 and tell them to correct the tax per the original return filed. Keep copies of everything.

I just made a copy of my W-2 to send in to the Oklahoma Tax Commission and realized TurboTax has the wrong amount in the amount of tax withheld from the state of Oklahoma. We had $702 withheld for Oklahoma state taxes and $694 withheld for Missouri state taxes, for a total of $1396. On our Oklahoma tax return it has $1404 entered as the Oklahoma withholding amount. Where did that come from? Looks like there is an error in our return.

I just checked my Missouri return and they got the amount withheld wrong on it too. They have $634 when it should be $694.
