Filed injured spouse

So I filed my injured spouse after u filed my return and found out my husband owed child support ! I ended up with a tax advocate who said she would push it ! Well

here we are about two weeks later and finally between today and two days ago finally my transcript was updated and said they reversed the non irs debt but then when I got excited finally relief with all this corona virus and missing work ! Nope then under that code is code 290 additional tax assessed which says 0.00$ but under thay it says notice issued 4/13  and it says the injured spouse was reversed 4/15 and the 290 code 4/13 ! So suffice to say I prolly won’t see my money for a while huh ? I mean the notice won’t be sent out for almost 3 weeks if this is correct and code 290? I called my student loans which I’ve been in forbearance and they about to discharge my loans bc disability  so I know they didn’t swoop in plus with everything going on they can’t ! I called offset nope ! I’ve been on phone with 1040 hot

line for a hour and they ain’t answering but here I am I am waiting ! I’ve called tax advocate lines and every number I have for live people in irs but technical difficulties apparently bc they ain’t working out of the offices in my guess ! But anyone been through this what does this mean am

i getting my money back or not !

If you’ve contacted the Taxpayer Advocate office, and also the Bureau of the Fiscal Service number shown on the IRS's Topic Number 203 - Reduced Refund page, then it sounds like you’ve done everything you possibly can to try and resolve the issue.

The IRS transaction information you’ve found on your transcript doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t receive your allocation, but it does seem to indicate that it may take awhile.

And, the truth is, you’ll probably have to wait a bit for your allocation.  According to the IRS, the normal processing times for injured spouse claims are:

  • If you file Form 8379 with a joint return electronically, the time needed to process it is about 11 weeks.
  • If you file Form 8379 with a joint return on paper, the time needed is about 14 weeks.
  • If you file Form 8379 by itself after a joint return has already been processed, the time needed is about 8 weeks.

In these exceptional times, those timeframes most likely won’t apply.
