File on March 12, 2020; Sent to Wrong Address

Hi Everyone,

 

I paper-filed my taxes and USPS shows it has been delivered on March 12th. I have made one mistake: I sent the file to Fresno, CA instead of Kansas City, MO.

 

I still have not received the tax refund yet, and my refund status does not show anything. Is there anything I need to do at this moment?

There is nothing you need to do. The IRS will process it regardless of which tax office you mailed it to. They are way behind in processing mailed returns and have millions left that are not yet processed. There is nothing you can do but wait. When they begin processing your return, you can track the status using the IRS refund tracking site: 

https://www.irs.gov/refunds
