Federal refund send date of 2/24. I paid the extra to have the 5 days advance. Today makes 5 days early but nothing changed on turbo. Will I get refunded for no advance?

My transcript updated with the 846 date of 2/24. I've also already received my state 2 weeks ago with no updated on turbo..... I'm really getting sick of turbo tax becoming more an inconvenience to use anymore....

Remember that the “”5 day early” date is based on the date given to you on the IRS refund site—-not the date the TT site shows in your account.   If your refund does not come in five days ahead of the IRS date, they are supposed to cancel the $25 fee.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Watch your own bank account.   The TurboTax site is not going to update to show your refund date.

You should get an email from TurboTax when your refund is on its way. If you don't receive your refund by the end of today, you will get a follow-up email from TurboTax telling you why they weren't able to deposit your funds on time, and you will get a refund of the $25 fee if you were charged.

Yeah mine was the exact same and now I see a message saying they are not able to provide the 5 day early refund. My DD is 2/24, today is 2/19. I really don’t understand why.

Yeah my estimated date on Turbo says today, but on the transcript, it says the 24th so which day am I getting on the 24th or sometime today? Mine said the same thing they couldn’t offer me the refund early

Looks like we’re waiting to the 24th.

Maybe so cause I know I use Chime and I always get paid two days early so that I don’t know either

Same for me, what a waste,  my sister and friend used the same credit union Navy Federal and they both got theres over a hour ago. 5 days early. I used a different bank and turbo told me my $25 would be refunded. They couldn’t do the 5 day early option. I guess it depends on the bank

Do you happen to know why mine is showing as if my refund has been sent and I have nothing? Or the email in which you speak of?

I will not be using TurboTax again! I have used them for years, but then chose a different route last year and was completely satisfied, and it was free. This year TurboTax stated "if you did not file with us last year, you will not be charged to file this year" not only was in charged, but they changed my info last minute before filing. I will end up paying almost $500 this year. I am a HOH single mother of two basic filer. I didn't even choose the 25$ 5 day early and I got charged for it .... My transcript also shows 2/24 send date. But TurboTax shows 2/17.

Yeah I paid for the five day early but they told me they couldn’t send mine out five days early so they refund to be mine as it says today is their estimated refund from Turbo but on my transcript, it says the 24th so I don’t know so I’m guessing between now and the 24th but I have chime so I get paid two days early so I don’t know. Hopefully I get mine Friday, but who knows

If you signed up for the early refund promotion, and your federal refund is deposited into your selected bank account less than 5 days before the IRS refund settlement date (the date it would have arrived if sent from the IRS directly), then you will not pay the 5 Days Early fee. See here for more details.

Your federal tax refund will be deposited to your selected bank account 5 days before the refund settlement date provided by the IRS (the date your refund would have arrived if sent from the IRS directly).

The receipt of your refund 5 Days Early is subject to IRS submitting refund information to us at least 5 days before the refund settlement date. IRS does not always provide refund settlement information 5 days early.

You will not be eligible to receive your refund 5 Days Early if (1) you take a Refund Advance loan, (2) IRS delays payment of your refund, or (3) your bank’s policies do not allow for same-day payment processing. 5 Days Early fee will be deducted directly from your refund prior to being deposited to your bank account. If your refund cannot be delivered 5 Days Early, you will not be charged the 5 Days Early fee. 5 Days Early program may change or be discontinued at any time.

So if I received the message stating they could not expedite refund, how will they get their fees? I was never on sbtpg because it showed the five days early until tonight. With the five days early, it goes through crossriver bank. I'm so confused and irritated right now.

I just went on TT and it stated “We could not expedite your refund. No 5 day early fee was charged” I have. 846 code for DDD as well for 2/24. Every year it’s hits my account the Thursday after Prez day (Pather) USAA doesn’t hold funds once the receive it. Thursday or Friday it will hit our bank accounts. Depending on your bank

Yes I seen on my transcript that mine updated with the 846 code and ddd for the 24th. I also opted for the 5 days early but went on turbo this morning to check what it said and I had a message saying they couldn't do the 5 days early. Man I really hope mine comes and nothing happens or messed up. I had quit using turbo tax last yr after using them ever since I been filing taxs I went to Jackson and hewitt but I wasn't paying nobody this year when I knew I could do them myself especially when they really didn't do anything differently then I would have. She asked the same questions that I get asked when I do them so wasn't Nothing special besides me getting tax advance loan. Maybe I should have this year to idk but really needing this money to come. Need a new car (not new but new to me). Mine is on its last leg unfortunately and isn't going to last much longer. Being single mom with my kid I need a way around knowing can't depend in anybody else for help. Okay sorry so long rant over. I hope it comes and I hope all of yalls come to early.

So ironically after my question on here I get s notification from TT that my funds came 5 days early and they're taking the 25. Crazy part is I'm STILL waiting for it to hit the bank. 5 days early is a lie..... and no it's not my bank! Soon as my bank is notified of anything there will be an ACH notification..... even if it doesn't deposit for another week. So once again TT is playing games and stealing money. 5 days early and taking the money should 1000% mean my money should have been deposited yesterday..... but yall took the funds and still holding my deposit. I'll never recommend turbo tax to anyone after this mess.

They are supposed to cancel the $25 fee if they cannot deposit your funds early

You should get an email from TurboTax when your refund is on its way. Some didn't get an email until late in the day, but still got their deposit.

5 Days Early Option

If you don't get your deposit, there is a few reasons why that might happen.

  • Your refund was offset or differed from their estimated refund amount, bringing the refund amount below the minimum threshold or above the maximum. What is a refund offset?
  • Your bank wouldn't accept RTP (Real Time Payments) or Same Day ACH deposits, preventing Intuit from depositing your refund up to 5 days ahead of when the IRS would have deposited your refund.
  • The IRS didn't give Intuit up to 5 or more days of notice in advance. This stopped Intuit from meeting the up to 5 days early expectations.

If TurboTax is unable to deliver the refund up to 5 days early, your order will be canceled and you won't be charged the up to 5-Day Early fee. You will receive a follow-up email with a refund and timing update, and if any cancellation is applicable.

If you don’t receive an update email or an automatic refund (if applicable) within a few days, you can contact TurboTax Customer Support by clicking the link below.
