Federal and State filing

I filed my federal taxes at a different place.

I only need to file my state taxes. TurboTax says that I need to file both federal and state taxes together (they can't be filed separately). If I file both federal and state taxes through TurboTax, will it be a problem since my federal taxes have already been filed? Or will the federal taxes be rejected for the second attempt while the state taxes go through?

Thank you.

If you have already e-filing the federal tax return with another service, the state tax return using TurboTax can only be printed and mailed.  In the File section of the program on Step 3 you will need to change from e-filing to mailing the state tax return.  For the federal tax return you need to indicate you do not want to e-file the federal return at this time.
