efile 2019 1040-x amended form

Hi TurboTax Help

The IRS recently (March 2021) announced for tax years 2019 and 2020, 1040 and 1040-SR returns can be amended electronically at this time (click on link below).

Please explain why TurboTax online and/or the TurboTax desktop are not supporting efiling the 2019 amended forms at this time?

I cannot understand why TurboTax would have its customers mail in their amended forms, when efiling them is much more secure!

TurboTax closed e-filing of 2019 tax returns, including 2019 amended tax returns, after October 2020.

A 2019 tax return or a 2019 amended tax return using TurboTax can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

 

Only 2020 tax returns and 2020 amended tax returns can be e-filed using TurboTax up through October 2021.
