You can log back into your account to make changes anytime prior to filing your return. Click Tax Home in the left hand menu. Click Federal (or State) and you can navigate through the different sections of your return using the top menu links (Personal, Deductions and Credits, etc).
If you have already e-filed (or mailed) your return, you will need to wait until your return is either accepted or rejected to make changes.

We followed the TurboTax email instruction to help fix it: they are useless, TurboTax simply said redo 1040, but does not let us to fix/edit the forms that we think TurboTax made errors.
Extremely frustrating and unprofessional for TurboTax.
