E-File rejected for Sch 2 First Time Homebuyer Credit Repayment (we never had this credit or repayment)

Our federal e-file was rejected (S2-F1040-394) though we have never had anything to do with the First-Time Homebuyers Credit or Repayment.  Our returns properly showed nothing on that line on Schedule 2.  Turbotax refiling instructions said to go back and correct that information before refiling.  Since it was already correct, all I could do was go step-by-step through that portion of the interview again.  I ran the Review for Errors again, and it still showed no errors, so I resubmitted the E-files today.  If this is a TurboTax glitch, it should be corrected.  If this is an IRS glitch,  we should be warned and clearer instructions for resubmitting should be provided.

Same problem here. My California state efile return was also rejected after I paid the $20 fee.

Same problem here filing for my sister.  This does not apply to her at all.  I can't figure out how to fix it.

I decided to go over the interview portion of the Homebuyers Credit and answered the questions "NO" or "0.00" wherever I could.  Then I resubmitted via E-file and both the IRS and the State (Oregon) accepted them this time.  I recommend trying that.

Thanks.  I did and it worked.   I just don’t remember seeing some of those questions/pages originally.  Happy you got it worked out.

Did you guys file both the federal and state at the same time?

Or did you file the federal first and after it was accepted, file the state?

Did you have to pay the $20 fee again for the state filing?
