Do I still have to include copies of my W-2's and 1099's with an amended tax return?

Only include forms that support the changes made in column B of the form 1040X.

You include copies of the W-2 and 1099-R if they are additional income being reported or you received corrected forms.

Only include the document of proof for the reason 1040X was needed.  Ex: If you received a W2 that was not included on Origin return, attach that W2 only to 1040X
