Do I need to send 1040x to State if nothing changed?

Hello TurboTax Community,

I am amending my 1040 due to adjustments in the depreciation cost basis.  The 1040x does not yield any refund or due.

Do I need to send copy of the amended 1040/1040x to:

1.  My resident state (NJ)

2.  Non-resident state (GA, MO, OH, KY, ND, IL)

There is no change to the amount of refunds/due at the state level because they are mostly net loss.

At the least, I am assuming I need to send a copy of the 1040X to my resident state (NJ) since the changes in depreciation cost basis impact the depreciation adjustments.

Thanks.

Generally, you should only file an amended state tax return only if the changes to your federal return affect your state tax liability.  When you amend your federal return, the changes will automatically be transferred to your state tax returns.  File them if you see any information changes after amending the federal return.
