I recently received notice CP63 from IRS yesterday 2/29/20 I have returns 2014-16 that I have to get filed by 3/5 to get my 2019 refund, for the unfiled returns can I file my disabled half sister ?she has lived with me since 2013,she gets ssi and disability, would I be able to file her to get the eitc credits

You can claim a child, relative, friend, or fiancé (etc.) as a dependent on your 2019 taxes as long as they meet the following requirements:

  • They aren't claimed as a dependent by someone else.
  • They're a U.S. citizen, resident alien, national, or a Canadian or Mexican resident.
  • They aren’t filing a joint return with their spouse.
  • They lived with you the entire year.
  • They made less than $4,200 in 2019.
  • You provided more than half of their financial support.
