Cancer

I got cancer. I get a check for aid on rent from a nonprofit organization. do I claim it on my taxes or does the lease holder does

If the money you received is a gift, then it is not taxable or reportable on your tax return. A gift is something you receive for which you do not have to perform a service or provide money or property in return. You can use this worksheet from the IRS to determine if the money you received is a gift and as such not subject to taxes: Is my gift taxable?
