Can you edit a return after you have "Printed to File By Mail"? I wanted to print it to review it, but I wasn't done and haven't mailed it.

Yes, as long as you have not mailed it, you can still edit the return. You can go back in the program by selecting add a state (you won't be adding a state but this will get you back into the program). Please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your TurboTax account.
  2. In the Welcome Home box, click on the My TurboTax tab at the top and then My Tax Timeline
  3. In the SOME THINGS, YOU CAN DO section, click Add a state. (Important do not select continue with state return as it will send you back in a loop. Please select add a state, as this will bring you back into the program, even though you are not really adding a state)
  4. Now you are back into the program and can make the changes to your Federal return. Once you make the required changes please make sure to review your return carefully before printing and mailing.

Thanks for this solution. I had the 7202 in my return but it could not be efiled. I had to go back in and delete the form (it only saved me $100 but required that I print and mail both the federal and state returns), and your instructions got me back in. Thanks
