She has some income from Hong Kong, now living in WI with no US income and attained a SSN in Oct 23 Is filling jointly in 2023 with TT $269 package sounding like the safest best route?
@ajphelps61-gmail , assuming that you are an US person ( citizen/ GreenCard/ Resident for Tax purposes ), and your spouse an NRA ( Non-Resident Alien) with SSN, TurboTax should be perfect for preparing and e-filing your 2023 MFJ ( Married Filing Joint ). It can handle all the complexities of the scenario you mentioned.
What I cannot comment on is the relative merit / efficiency / ease of use ( because I do not have sufficient knowledge of competing products , of which there are many but TurboTax has the largest market share , I think ) . Ditto for the price you mentioned.
My personal favorite is downloaded/ CD windows version of TurboTax Home & Business. I like this because it covers almost all complex situations, the product and my return ( in its native form ) is on my machine , always available even for amending or working on "what-if " scenarios for current or later years.
Note : Perhaps you should consider changing your sign-in name as it is too close to a ( valid?? ) e0mail address
Does this help ?
