Can someone please tell me why I haven’t gotten my refund or received any communication at all from turbo tax or the irs?

I was prepared for the delay with the EIC but it’s September…I filed in early February it has remained on processing since than. I understand that a lot has been going on but I figured I would have gotten a letter or something. Even a notification on my IRS account or TurboTax account. I mean I got the refund advance and I haven’t gotten anything at all.

To check on regular tax refund status via automated phone, call 800-829-1954.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities.  There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

Any and every time I’ve talked to someone at the irs they give me the run around.

honestly I think my wife knows more about taxes and stuff than they do. She had to explain one of the new tax laws to one of the agents…

I would just like to receive some kind of communication, it says my refund was accepted, than processing, and I even had a code that you see on your transcript before it’s deposited now nothing.
