Can I use Turbo Tax to file State Taxes for 2013 and 2014?

I have been notified that I did not get my State returns filed for those two years and they are trying to penalize me.  Can I use Turbo Tax to help me prepare and send those forms provided I can find out all of the information?

Yes, you can prepare and file your 2013 and 2014 state income tax returns using TurboTax software. Simply order the TurboTax software and install it on your computer. The CD\Download version comes with a Free State Download.  TurboTax Online for tax year 2013 and 2014 is no longer available.

For tax year 2013: If you're expecting a refund, you have until April 15, 2017 to paper-file your 2013 return and claim your refund. After that, all unclaimed 2013 tax refunds end up in the U.S. Treasury.

For tax year 2014: If you're expecting a refund, you have until April 15, 2018 to paper-file your 2014 return and claim your tax refund. After that, all unclaimed 2014 tax refunds end up in the U.S. Treasury.

You will have to recreate the federal if you do not have your TurboTax tax file for those years.

Download your state program right from your TurboTax software:

  1. Open your return in TurboTax.
  2. From the Online menu, choose Download State (you'll be prompted to save).
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install your state.
  4. Repeat these instructions for additional state programs.

After you've completed and reviewed your federal tax return, we'll take you to your state return.
