You don't need to amend for that.  To prepare or edit estimates for next year you start with your current return, but be careful not to change anything.  If you can't get back into your return, Click on Add a State to let you back into your retun.

Go to….

Federal Taxes or Personal (Deskop H&B)

Other Tax Situations

Other Tax Forms

Form W-4 and Estimated Taxes - Click the Start or Update button

Or you can just cross out the amount and write in a new amount on your 1040ES slips.

Or Here are the blank Estimates and instructions (the actual 1040ES forms are at the very bottom so scroll way down)

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040es.pdf

You can pay directly on the IRS website https://www.irs.gov/payments

Be sure to pick the right kind of payment and year.....2023 Estimate

What is it exactly you want to do?

Estimated tax already paid in for 2023 cannot be taken back.

If you find your income will be higher, the only thing you can do is make additional Estimated Tax payment(s),

or, increase withholding for the rest of the year via W-4.

Thank you for this answer. I cannot find an "Add a State" option in TurboTax. I already filed both my Federal and California State taxes, and all I can find is the "amend" option. Could you help me find the correct option?

If you used the TurboTax online editions to complete and file the 2022 tax return, you have to scroll down to the bottom of the Tax Home page when you sign onto your TurboTax online account -

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.

This will take you back to the 2022 online tax return.
