Choosing file by mail only lets me print/access my state taxes, not my federal. Although it is optional to file 1040EZ with no income, I wish to do so for student loan reasons.

If you have no income, TurboTax will not generate a 1040EZ.
You can always write the information on a paper 1040EZ and mail your return to the appropriate address. The link takes you to a fillable form online, so it looks official. You can also use the IRS FreeFile web site, but we can't vouch for what you can do there.
