Can I file an injured spouse form after I already filed my taxes?

I already submitted my federal return, before I noticed that there is a section for injured spouses in the miscellaneous tax situations section. I am the only one working this year, and I don't want my husband's back child support to take my entire refund.

Yes. You can file Form 8379 (injured spouse form) afterward by itself. Here is the link to the formhttps://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i8379.pdf

You will see a chart on the first page that says "Where To File". It states that if you file Form 8379 by itself after you filed your original joint return electronically, then mail Form 8379 to the Internal Revenue Service Center for the area where you live.
