Can I file an amended federal return but not a state return?

Just select to print the amended state return instead of e-filing it.

does anything change on your state return? be aware that often the state finds out that an amended federal return has been filed and then requests that you also file with them.  my state is so "stupid" that it required an amended return when I changed to add an item in itemized deductions  (IRS Schedule A) even though my state does not allow any itemized or standard deduction.
