Can I e-file my Minnesota M1PR renter's form on TurboTax? If so, how do I do this when my federal and state returns have already been filed and accepted?

Yes, you can amend your minnesota state return, which will the M1PR form. To amend using Turbo Tax Online.

  1. Sign in to TurboTax
  2. On the home screen, scroll down to Your tax returns & documents and select the year (2022) you want to amend
  3. Select Amend (change) return, then Amend using TurboTax Online
    • If you're told to amend your return via TurboTax Desktop, follow the steps for TurboTax CD/Download below instead
  4. On the screen OK, let's get a kickstart on your 2022 amended return, select The IRS or state sent me a notice (this will allow you to amend only your state return without making changes to your federal) and Continue
  5. On the next screen, select Something Else and Continue
  6. On the screen Tell us which 2022 return(s) you want to amend, select 2022 state
  7. Continue until the Let's Amend your State Taxes screen. Select Amend next to your state return, and continue through the screens to make your amendments.

Once you have reached this point, go tp the state taxes tab in your return. Scroll through your return until you reach a page that says Other Forms you May Need. Then check the box that says Property Tax Refund (M1PR). Note, you will need a Certificate of Rent paid (CRP).

You can also efile directly with the State of Minnesota in their website. This may be a more direct approach.
