Can I claim attorney fees I paid for representing me against my employer during an investigation that could have led to termination but did not?

Up to tax year 2017, attorney's fees incurred in protecting or obtaining your wages were deductible as a miscellaneous deduction subject to the 2% of AGI floor.

For tax year 2018, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act has eliminated this deduction..  Per @MinhT
