Can I amend my return so I can add a dependent so I can get the child tax credit I am his sol provider I receive his social security in my name

How do I correct it

Was you dependent no older than age 16 at the end of 2020?  Did the dependent live with you more than half of 2020?  How are you related to your dependent?

why didn't you list the dependent on your return to begin with?
