box 15 has the state initials wrong IA instead of ID, do I need to get a corrected w-2

Yes.  Or if they sent the withholding to Iowa you will need to file an Iowa return to get the withholding back.  Or if there is no state withholding taken out leave all boxes 15-17 Blank.
