You should see a status of some type on the amended return web site in about 3 weeks from when you printed and mailed the amended return. It takes about 16 weeks for the return to be completely processed. Here is a link to the amended return web site: http://www.irs.gov/Filing/Individuals/Amended-Returns-(Form-1040-X)/Wheres-My-Amended-Return-1

IRS received my amended return on 03/01/19 I updated to the adjusted bar on 03/29/19. I received a letter from the IRS on 04/08/19 stating the changes made to my amended return and to please allow an additional 2-3 weeks to receive a paper check. Hope this helps 🙂
@crystalwatson110 so how long would you say it took you to get your amended return and what changed in your return did it say like the amount? Because I'm going threw the same thing right now I sent my amended return on 3/22/19 got an update on the website on 4/12/19 now I'm waiting.
Well I am currently still waiting to receive my refund, the letter I received stated the adjusted made to my 2018 wages due to an error on my original 2018 return and it states the difference in the amounts I am receiving and it states to wait 2-3 weeks for a paper check in the mail.
@crystalwatson110 ok if you dont mind could u let me kno when u receive it so I could kno when to expect mine too thanks.
@crystalwatson110 it didn’t take the full 16 weeks like they advice? I pray mines move this fast i just found out i had to amend my return
Hey it seems like you guys are the only ones talking about this.Do you know if it actually takes 16 weeks?
My (2) amendments were sent in on 4/1/19, shows received on 4/15/19 and has not reached the adjusted stage yet for either year. I am waiting for amendments for two years due to an error in my company's reporting. So now on week 7....
I got an advocate she told me to do amendment , they received it on 4/15/19 and i called the advocate line yesterday and was told that it was adjusted on the 24th and to wait 2 weeks
My amended return was processed on 3/26/19. Nothing has changed as of yet, no adjustment. Still waiting.
Everybody situation may not be the same on these amendments that’s why they say up to 16 weeks for processing. I just sent mines off on May 17th so i haven’t reached my 3 weeks for the to receive it. I had to add a w2 i missed and correct my federal withholding from my 401k i forgot to add also.
Six days I posted that I was on week 7 and there was no change from the received bar - the following day it moved to amended and when I got home the same night my check was in the my mail box. Now what worries me is that I have not received my State amended refund, which I would have thought would have come long before the Federal....
Anyone with child tax credit received theirs. I dont know if this is why mine is taking so long. Received 4/19 and still first bar
That's the problem I have too. I think us with child credits will take longer
Yes. Seems as it might be delayed for that reason. Last year my amendment was received 4/09/18 and adjusted 5/05/18 no such luck this year.
@fnicole2018 and @fmptda was this the reason you all had to amend the return because of your child care tax credit? Or was it for something else because i have child care tax credit but the reason i had to amend because i forgot to file one of my w-2 and my 401k
Yes @fmptda , I did have child credit. Is that the reason for the delay? I am concerned about the state return because when I try to call for an update, it does not recognize the amount I was given for the return to verify its status. @lsparks3030 I had to do an amendment because our finance department at work had an incorrect calculation that effected our last 5 years of returns.
@lsparks3030 I filled the same reason. I forgot my W2 and had to refile. And @gjohnson53216 not with any exact amount, was your child credit a lot? Or just a couple hundred?
