I had completed everything else and then received this screen at the very end of my turbotax session. I clicked "print forms" but got an error message. I logged in again later but could not get back to the same page. I waited a few days and received acceptance messages from the federal and state, so it seems like my taxes are complete, but I am worried that I skipped an important step since I was not able to print the forms. I do not know what the forms were. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
@cmagers29- You can find these forms in your tax files. you can view your .pdf file without printing, then scroll through the pages to find the page noted in your question: "You've e-filed, but don't forget to mail in these forms". Remember that any forms or tax documents you mail to the IRS, you should also keep a copy of such as W2s or 1099s. You should also always keep a copy of your return as filed for your records.
There are a handful of situations where you might have to mail something after e-filing, like if your return contains summary sales or it contains Form 8453.
Hi - I just had the same thing happened to me and it's really frustrating. With mine, it appears that I need to mail my state return and include payment. Apparently my state does not permit electronic payment through Turbo Tax. If you learned anything else, I would like to know.
"my state does not permit electronic payment through Turbo Tax"
That's not a reason to give up on e-File.
There are other payment options for the amount you owe to your state, and TurboTax should show them.
If you clicked on the link to Print Forms, and there was nothing to print, check the Filing Instructions in the PDF copy of your return you saved to your computer.
In most cases, there is nothing that needs to be mailed.
You'll get Emails from TurboTax when you've Efiled, and again when your returns are Accepted.
Here's How to Get a PDF of Your Return.
Except there are no filing instructions in the PDF. I’m assuming there’s nothing I need to print and send in, except my state’s payment voucher, but this screen makes it very confusing.
Just curious @Aricakoren any updates by chance as I’m sitting in the exact same predicament/guessing game?
I’m fairly certain this happened to me because I elected to mail a check to my state for payment, which put their payment voucher in my forms. I was advised if I had elected to e-file, I didn’t need to mail anything in, but the voucher is required with my payment when I mail my check.
Yes, if you chose to pay your State Tax Due by check, you'll get a Payment Voucher to mail it in.
You don't have to mail a check if you pay directly on your state's website, however. Here's a link to State Departments of Revenue.
