Amending tax return

I filed my 2023 taxes, and I owe $2,081

i set up a extension with the irs. Im a IHSS Caregiver and I live with my recipient the one I take care of and get paid for. I found out that I didn’t have to add that IHSS income due to it not being taxable since we live together. I ended up amending my taxes for that specific reason, and I got a refund. My question is do I still have to pay the IRS the first amount of $2,081? Even tho when amending my taxes and it being accepted and getting a return instead of owing. Please help me.

Yes.  The original tax due should have been included on the 1040X as paid on line 16.  Is it there?

You will still get the refund from the first original return or still need to pay the first tax due.  In fact you should not even amend until the first return has fully processed and you get the first refund or your tax due payment has cleared.
