Amended Fed return but payment not sent in yet

I e filed Fed return - but have not yet sent in tax due.   I received an unexpected estate K-1, so I need to file an amended return.   K-1 is reducing tax liability.   Should I send the final net amount, or the gross amount and then direct deposit the refund due to amendment.

It would be best to complete your original return and make sure it is processed before filing the amended return.

Assuming the IRS does not catch the K-1 then at that time I would file an amended return.

Not really helpful.  I want to file the amendment because I am due money.

What is the best process - mail the original tax due?  and then process amendment and wait for refund,

Or mail net amount?

BTW turbo tax isnt showing me the original return anymore, just the amended.  How do I get back to the original return?

Send in the net with the amendment.

your return will be processed as originally filed.

You must pay the amount you owe as shown on that return by May 17.

An amendment  could take four months or longer to go through.
