I have already filed both Federal and State taxes. I knew that I don't need to amend federal tax return. IRS will issue me a refund for the unemployment tax after the new act. How about state tax? Do I need to amend my state tax to take the $10,200 unemployment compensation into account? I live in Minnesota. Thanks!
call your state's department of revenue or review its website. some will fix automatically, some you would need to amend, 13 states did not adopt the exemption - nothing to amend.
I looked on the State of Michigan website and it says to file an amended tax return to get a refund of the unemployment tax that was paid. I already received the federal refund for the unemployment. How do I get to the state return through turbo tax to amend the state only?
