Amend a 2020 Tax Return in TurboTax Premier CD/Mac not working

So, TurboTax Premier CD/Mac doesn't seem to work when trying to amend when following TurboTax instructions.

 

Following steps from TurboTax Help [https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/amending/help/how-do-i-amend-my-return/01/27439] which doesn't allow any questions.

 

  1. Make sure you’ve mailed your original return and that you’ve either received your refund or the IRS has taken payment out of your account. (The IRS will only accept a 1040X, or amended return, if your original 1040 was accepted.) -- DONE. Refund RECEIVED.
  2. Open TurboTax. -- DONE. 
  3. Select Amend a filed return. -- DONE. 
  4. Select the return you want to amend, and follow the instructions to make your changes. -- NEVER GIVEN CHOICE. 
  5. Now, make an "amend" copy your return by selecting Save As (Mac: select Duplicate) from the File menu. This preserves the originally-filed return. -- DON'T GET CHOICE, JUST STARTS AMENDING EMPTY RETURN. 

 

I deleted the rest of the steps since it is breaking at STEP 2. Any ideas? Help? If I try to open the return to be amended I can never get the "WELCOME" page which includes the amend a return command, and I can't find Form 1040X if I have the return open. 

 

Is TurboTax Premier CD/Mac broken, or am I missing something painfully obvious?

Hello,

 

I am a Windows user, so this is for Windows, but hopefully you can find it. When you open your return in TTDesktop that you need to amend, go to PERSONAL (not personal info, but where you have income & wages, deductions, etc), than go to "Other tax situations", scroll down to "Other Tax forms". There is amended return there.
