Am I considered dependent as a full-time student with a full-time job, can I still get a stimulus payment check

This has to do with the coronavirus relief checks. My family has all received their payment checks except for me, yet I was the first among us to file the tax returns in early march before the EIP was a thing. Its been almost 2 months now and while I got my tax returns, I have no payment status available on the IRS tool so I have no clue if and when I'm getting the $1200 check.

Before December 31st 2019 I was under the age of 24 (turned that this year), and I was a student for more than 5 months (Spring and Fall semesters).

However, I work a full-time job as well that provides a W-2 form for tax purposes and grossed around $20,000 for the 2019 year. I also pay for my college tuition expenses (classes, books, labs etc) out of pocket with no additional loans, grants, scholarships, etc, and I pay for my transportation (gas, tolls, plane tickets, etc), my phone bills, device purchases, entertainment, most food, groceries, any new clothing etc. The only things I don't pay for are my rent and utilities since my family offers assistance there and wants me to save money. Since that is the case I didn't list myself as supporting half of my expenses.

Does this prevent me from getting the check for $1200? It isn't very clear (to me at least) if that is a factor or qualifies me as a dependent even if I checked that I was not going to be claimed dependent. I called the IRS support line and they didn't seem to know for sure either. My family has not claimed me as a dependent this year nor for the last 3 years either.

Were you claimed as a dependent on someone else's return? If so, you will not receive the stimulus payment in 2019.

However, if you are not able to be claimed as a dependent in 2020, you may be able to claim the stimulus as a credit on your 2020 tax return.

Per the IRS, you are not eligible if:

You can be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s return. For example, this would include a child, student or older dependent who can be claimed on a parent’s return.

It does not state that you are claimed, but rather that you are can be claimed on someone else's return.

Rules for Claiming a Dependent

If you did not receive the full amount to which you believe you are entitled, you will be able to claim the additional amount when you file your 2020 tax return.  This is particularly important for individuals who may be entitled to the additional $500 per qualifying child dependent payments. For VA and SSI recipients who don’t have a filing requirement and have a child, they need to use the Non-Filer tool (link) on IRS.gov by May 5 in order to have the $500 added automatically to their $1,200 Economic Impact payment. We encourage people to review our “How do I calculate my EIP Payment” question and answer (See question 11).
