Am I able to go back in to my taxes to retrieve & see the amount of the penalty I was supposed to pay?

You should be able to go back into your tax return to review your entries. It will be under "Other Tax Situations" "Underpayment penalties".

You can also look on your Form 1040 on line 38 to see your underpayment penalty.
