Already mail 1040-NR without 8889. Can I send it separately?
I had prepared my taxes using Sprintax. By the time I found out that they don't support HSA forms, I had already mailed the returns.
I had employer contributions and qualified distributions from the HSA. Can I file 8889 and mail it separately.
According to this link, I don't have to amend my return. IRS would request the missing form once they process my return.
My questions 1) Are my conclusions correct? 2) Should I wait for IRS notice or mail the 8889 form separately before the deadline(May 17)?
NB - I have 1099-SA with me.

Yes, your conclusions are correct.
It is best to wait for the IRS to request the form. The request will come with a specific center/area to send the form back to, which will result in quicker processing for you.
