After I filed/You may not have entered the correct information/ update from IRS

It's been 33 days and I still haven't received my tax refund along with my 2nd stimulus check. I finally got through to the IRS and I was told this:

It normally takes 21 days but now refunds are delayed by 31, 41 days. If you filed with any add on's like stimulus check, head of household, earned income credit, etc these are delaying your refund time. Also, the IRS website has not been updated at all. they said don't use it. It's not reliable. I was supposed to recvd my refund on march 4th but now it could take an additional two weeks.

They said if you recvd an email saying IRS recvd your taxes and it was accepted then we just need to wait. They will process them and start issuing refunds. It took 37 calls to the IRS for me to finally get this information.

Variations of this have been in the press, and the IRS website recently posted a message (since removed) imploring people not to call them.  But it's good to have direct verification. Thanks for posting it.

You mentioned a refund date of March 4 . If that came from TT, it was only an estimate, based on the customary IRS goal of 21 days. But even the IRS can change a refund date that it itself posted.  In addition, a friend who is a pro tax preparer told me that the IRS is struggling with a number of folks who filed for the Recovery Rebate Credit even though they were not eligible (think: dependent), or had already received the first two stimulus payments.  Apparently some think this is how they get the 3rd stimulus, which of course has not yet been enacted into law.
